“Shanmukh” is a new crime thriller film releasing on 21st March 2025 starring Aadi Sai Kumar and Avika Gore in the lead roles. Shanmukha’s father, Vigandha, embarks on a journey of black magic to cure his son. Meanwhile, Sara Maheswaran, a journalist, investigates the disappearances of young women and the mysterious deaths of their boyfriends in Hyderabad. Sara, along with SI Karthik Vallabhan, tries to get to the bottom of the matter. Though the story of the film was strong, its execution is flawed. The screenplay is very complicated and disorganized, making it difficult for the audience to understand the film. Besides, problems like weak dialogues, lack of development of characters and inconsistent music weaken the film. In this review, we will see whether “Shankhu” emerges as an interesting thriller or it can be dismissed as a dud.

The film Shanmukha is a crime thriller released on 21 March 2025, starring Aadi Sai Kumar and Avika Gore in the lead roles. The film is directed by Shanmugam Sappani. The story is about Shanmukha (Aadi Sai Kumar), who is born with six heads and a deformed face. His father Viganda (Chirag Jani) resorts to black magic to cure his son. Meanwhile, journalist Sara Maheshwaran (Avika Gore) investigates the disappearances of young women and the mysterious deaths of their boyfriends in Hyderabad. She along with SI Karthik Vallabhan (Adi Sai Kumar) tries to solve the case. As they investigate, a new kidnapping case comes to light, leading to many shocking revelations and unravelling many mysteries of the film.
Aadi Sai Kumar’s performance in the film is good, especially in the flashback scenes. Avika Gore has also done her role well. However, the film’s screenplay has serious flaws. The execution of the story is complicated and confusing, which makes it difficult for the audience to understand the film. The dialogues are weak and some scenes lack logic.
The music also does not live up to expectations, and the background score does not seem favorable in some parts. On the whole, Shanmukh starts with an interesting idea, but its muddled story and weak presentation make it a disappointment.

Overall, Shanmukha disappoints due to its weak screenplay and disorganized execution despite an interesting and unique story. Though Aadi Sai Kumar and Avika Gore did a good job in their roles, the weak dialogues, disorganized story and inconsistent music weakened the impact of the film. There are some good scenes in the film, but the whole film is difficult to understand. If you are looking for a strong and exciting thriller, then watching this film can be a disappointing experience. Overall, Shanmukh fails to be a passing entertainer.
