Thudarum Story

The story of the film revolves around Shanmugam alias “Benz”, a former stuntman and now a taxi driver, who lives in the serene hill station of Perunad, Rani. He lives a simple life with his family – wife Lalitha, son Pavi and daughter. One day his car gets crashed by his son’s friends and he gives it to his friend mechanic Kuttichan for repairs. Meanwhile, he goes to Chennai to attend the funeral of an old friend. On returning, he finds that the police have confiscated his car because someone used it to smuggle ganja.

Benz pleads with the police but SI Benny refuses to release the car. CI George Mathan intervenes and gets the car back but asks for a trip in return. During this trip, George and Benny use Benz’s car to dump a body in the woods. Benz later learns that the body was that of his own son, Pavi, who had gone missing a few days earlier.

To hide the truth, George and Benny falsely accuse Benz of murder. A plot is hatched to arrest and kill Benz, but he escapes and sets out for revenge. He eventually kills George and Benny. Confidently he says in court, “I did not kill my son, I killed his murderers.”

The film “Thudaram” is a touching story of a father’s quest for justice and love, with a deep depiction of family, betrayal and revenge.

Movie Review

Thudaram is not just a thriller, it is a tribute to Mohanlal – an experience that the director has not only cherished but also deeply woven into every scene. The story of the film grips the audience right from the beginning. The tension at every turn is such that you forget to blink. But what sets Thudaram apart from other thrillers is the in-depth presentation of Mohanlal’s personality through its symbolic storytelling.

The director has depicted Mohanlal as the symbol of “elephant” – a symbol of strength, intelligence and quiet dignity. This metaphor comes across not only visually but emotionally in many scenes, making the audience feel Mohanlal’s presence and impact fully. Just like a huge but calm creature comes across in its full glory, Mohanlal’s character comes alive in every scene.

Mohanlal’s performance once again proves why he is still one of the most powerful actors in the world of cinema. His silence, a glance, or a sudden burst of intensity—his presence is felt in every moment. You don’t just see him, you feel his energy in the story.

Director Tharun Murthy deserves special thanks for bringing out the brilliance of Mohanlal’s acting in our hearts once again. Thudaram is an emotionally rich, gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat and leaves you with a sobering reminder at the end: there’s no one like Mohanlal.

A brilliant tale of emotions, suspense and revenge

Thrun Murthy has crafted a brilliant revenge tale with Mohanlal, a perfect blend of suspense, emotions and spectacular visuals. The film starts off as a family drama but slowly turns into a dark thriller. Every reveal is unexpected, and every twist packs an emotional punch.

Mohanlal, in perhaps his most impressive role after Drishyam, brings depth and warmth to the role of a devoted family man. She is the soul of the film – strong, compassionate, and fierce from within. Shobhana shares the screen with her with equal grace and emotional connection, bringing back memories of the old days.

The cinematography of the film adds to its mysterious and tense feel. The high-altitude shots of the forest and the depiction of incessant rain create an eerie atmosphere. The background music is calm but highlights every emotional moment.

The supporting cast has also put up impressive performances, especially debutant Prakash Varma who steals the show with his sinister and cunning expressions.

In short, Thudaram is a film with a tight screenplay, excellent direction and stellar performances. Tharun Murthy has proved that he is a visionary storyteller who leaves a deep impression on the minds of the audience.

Conclusion

Thudaram is an emotional, suspenseful and powerful film that not only works as a great thriller but also pays a wonderful tribute to a legendary actor like Mohanlal. Tharun Murthy’s direction, a deeply woven screenplay, and impressive performances from all the actors make this film special. With symbolic plot, psychological depth and visual beauty, this film makes the audience think. Thudaram is a cinematic journey that touches the heart and proves that Mohanlal still rules the screen.
