Bagheera Story
The story of the film revolves around a young man named Vedant Prabhakar, who dreams of becoming a superhero since childhood. But his mother, who is suffering from cancer, explains to him that real superheroes are ordinary people, especially police officers. Listening to his mother, Vedant decides to become a police officer, just like his father Prabhakar.
Vedant completes his police training and gets posted in Mangalore. There he meets Dr. Sneha, whom he befriends and later gets engaged to. Vedant arrests many criminals as a police officer, but he discovers that corrupt officers and even his own father have joined hands with the criminals. One day, Vedant sees a girl who was a victim of rape committing suicide. This incident leaves a deep mark in his heart.
After this, Vedant becomes a superhero “Bagheera” at night and starts punishing the criminals severely. He pretends to be a corrupt cop to hide his identity and takes down criminals with the help of a head constable named Narayan. Meanwhile, Vedant learns that a crime boss Rana is involved in illegal organ trafficking. Bagheera targets Rana’s gang with the help of his gadgets and weapons.
The film introduces police officer Guru, who tries to find out Bagheera’s identity. The story takes a huge twist when Rana kidnaps Sneha and gives Vedant two choices. In the end, Vedant avenges Sneha’s death by killing Rana and saves the people.
The film is not only the story of a superhero but also a saga of the fight against corruption and crime, showing the victory of justice.
Movie Review
It is indeed sad that I could not watch Bagheera in theatres. Such films are best experienced on the big screen. When a film is made with a bold idea, innovative approach and technical prowess, it deserves its full platform and appreciation. Bagheera is not just an action thriller but also one of Kannada cinema’s first superhero films, a revolutionary effort in itself.
The film has a rating of just 6.8, which does not do justice to the effort and creativity put into it. The story revolves around a young police officer who, amidst the failures and corruption of the system, finds himself on a dangerous path to justice – as a masked superhero. Sriimurali has not only portrayed the character with strong action but also brought out the depth of emotions in it. His performance is undoubtedly the biggest strength of the film.
The cinematography of the film is also extremely beautiful. Be it an action scene or an emotional moment, the camera work in every scene deeply impacts the audience. Direction, story and technical aspects – all combine to create an experience that is rare in the Indian superhero genre.
The entire team has made a bold attempt to give Kannada audiences a new experience. In today’s era when most films are formula-based, an experimental project like Bagheera must be applauded. Such films show a new direction and expand the possibilities of cinema.
Mohan Rocky Review:
Bagheera (2024) is a highly engaging film that presents the theme of self-discovery and courage from a new perspective. The journey of the main character is not only a story of physical struggle, but also of emotional changes and family relationships. The story also connects with the audience as it clearly shows the aspects of struggle, ideals and humanity. The locations and cinematography of the film completely immerse the audience in the film.
The performance of the lead actor is very impressive. He has been successful in conveying the depth of emotions to the audience through his eyes, expressions and dialogues. Though the pace seems a bit slow in some scenes, the message and overall presentation of the film completely compensates for it. This film is not just action or thrill, but also an inspirational story.
Conclusion
Bagheera is a bold and impressive film that marks a new beginning for the superhero genre in Kannada cinema. Sriimurali’s powerful performance, excellent action sequences, and a deeply woven story make this film special. Technically too, the film is top notch – be it the background score, cinematography or direction. The film not only entertains but also raises serious issues like justice, corruption and sacrifice. This is a film that every cinephile should watch. Bagheera is truly a memorable cinematic experience.
