Lucky Baskhar Story

One morning in 1992 Bombay, Bhaskar Kumar is suddenly taken for questioning by CBI officers at his old bank, the Colaba branch of Magadh Bank. He is accused of embezzling funds from the bank and securities fraud. The real story unfolds through flashbacks, where Bhaskar breaks the fourth wall from time to time and communicates directly with the audience.

Three years ago, Bhaskar is an ordinary cashier who supports his family in a financial crisis. His father Prahlad, a former chartered accountant, is now mute and disabled. Wife Sumati, who ran away from a rich family, wants to start a home cooking business. Debt-ridden Bhaskar’s life changes when he makes big profits for the first time by selling stolen televisions with the help of smuggler Anthony.

Gradually he learns to launder black money through smuggling and then the stock market. But as his wealth grows, his nature changes and he becomes distant from his family. His wife Sumathi leaves him and his father warns him about the disastrous consequences of greed.

Finally, when Bhaskar discovers a major fraud by the bank and its leaders, he sticks to the truth. He reports the evidence to the RBI and resigns. Finally, Bhaskar starts a new life in the US with his family, buying a hotel and getting an investment visa.

The story is an inspirational journey of greed, morality and self-repentance.
