Buddy Story

This is the story of the film “Buddy”, in which Allu Sirish is seen in the lead role. The film begins with Aditya Ram (Allu Sirish), who is a pilot by profession and works in Visakhapatnam. Meanwhile, Pallavi (Gayatri Bharadwaj), working as an air traffic controller, falls in love with Aditya. But an office accident affects Aditya’s job and creates distance in their relationship.

After some time, Pallavi tries to reconnect with Aditya, but things take a major turn. Pallavi gets kidnapped and due to a mysterious incident, her soul gets separated from her body and trapped in a teddy bear (Buddy). Now Pallavi, as Buddy, tries to get her body back and foil the villain’s plot with the help of Aditya.

While this unique journey has thrill, comedy and a little emotion, the film definitely provides some entertaining moments for children. Although there is some novelty in the story, its presentation and screenplay are quite ordinary, which becomes the biggest weakness of the film. Still, Allu Sirish and Teddy Buddy scenes entertain the audience to some extent.

Overall, it is a light-hearted family film which can be liked by the younger audience.

Movie Review

Audience response to the film “Buddy” has been mixed, but many critics and general audiences have viewed the film negatively. For some, the experience was extremely disappointing. One viewer even said that he could not watch the film for more than ten minutes because the acting level in the initial scenes was very weak. He believed that the performance of every actor was very bad and the dialogue writing and screenplay were so weak that this film insults the intellectual level of any educated viewer.

The dialogue shown between the flight captain and the air traffic controller (ATC) in the film was severely criticized. One viewer quipped that who flirts on a radio channel, which is a serious and commercial medium, while he is landing the plane! This scene was completely unrealistic and ridiculous.

The negative role of the doctor shown in the film was also very “cringe”. Viewers felt that it was like an old-fashioned stereotypical villain who is very boring and unbearable to watch in today’s era.

Another reviewer, Dr Sai Sailesh Kumar Guthi, said that he went to the theatre to watch the film but there were only three people there apart from him – a total of four people. This shows that the film did not receive much support from the audience in the theatres. He said that he expected a better performance from Allu Sirish but the actor’s performance failed to impress him. The rest of the cast was also below average. There was no novelty in the story and it seemed like a routine story in which everything was already predictable.

Dr Sai also suggested that the film might be suitable for small children as it features a cute teddy bear which may attract children, but there is nothing special for the adult audience.

Overall, “Buddy” is a film that falls short in its ideas and presentation. The weak script, unrealistic dialogues, mediocre acting and the clichéd story failed to engage the audience. The film failed to live up to the expectations of the audience and was termed as a disappointment in most reviews.

Conclusion

The film “Buddy” turns out to be an average experience which has some funny moments but overall it fails to keep the audience engaged. Allu Sirish and the teddy bear scenes may attract children, but the weak screenplay, mediocre acting and erratic direction make this a weak film. The story lacks novelty and lacks emotional depth. If you want to watch a light-hearted, kid-friendly film, this is worth a watch, otherwise there are better options.
