Raj Tarun’s latest film Purushothamudu is released in theaters on 26th July 2024. The film is directed by Ram Bhimana and stars Raj Tarun along with experienced actors like Hasini Sudhir, Ramya Krishna, Prakash Raj, Murali Sharma and Brahmanandam. The music of the film is given by Gopi Sundar while cinematography is handled by P. G. Vinda and editing by senior editor Marthand K. Venkatesh. Though there was no special buzz before the release of the film, there was some excitement among the audience about the comeback of Raj Tarun.
Talking about the story, it is based on the condition of living 100 days like a common man, in which a rich boy tries to become a real life hero. The first half of the film is entertaining, with a good balance of action and emotional scenes. Raj Tarun’s performance is commendable, especially in some crucial scenes. However, the weak screenplay and the story’s pace dropping in the second half weakens the film. Overall, Purushothamudu is an average family drama that impresses in parts but fails to keep you hooked as a whole.

Purushothamudu Story
Purushothamudu is an emotional action drama film starring Raj Tarun in the lead role. The story of the film revolves around Ram (Raj Tarun) who returns to India after completing his studies in London. His father (Murali Sharma) wants to make him the CEO of his company. But Vasu (Ramya Krishna), who owns 50% of the company’s shares, does not agree with this decision. She puts a condition that if Ram wants to become the CEO of the company, he will have to give up his luxurious life and live like a common man for 100 days.
Ram accepts this challenge and faces many ups and downs during this time. During this time he meets Ammulu (Hasini Sudheer), whom he falls in love with. There are many twists in the story which change Ram’s life. Whether he is able to complete this challenge and become the CEO of the company or not, this is the main story of the film.
The film depicts the struggle of a rich boy, who adopts a normal life and recognizes the human being hidden inside him. The first half of the film is full of entertainment and emotion, but the second half proves to be a bit weak. The romantic track could have been shown more deeply.
Some of the strong points of the film include Raj Tarun’s performance, emotional scenes, and action sequences. The acting of Ramya Krishna, Prakash Raj and Murali Sharma is also commendable. Brahmanandam’s humour makes the film light-hearted. Though the story is strong, the weak screenplay and the second half make the film weak.
Movie Review
Purushothamudu is a South Indian Telugu language action drama film with a Hindi dubbed version also available. The film stars Raj Tarun and Hasini Sudhir in the lead roles. The story revolves around the changes in the life of a rich and privileged young man, but its presentation and screenplay have several weaknesses.
While the basic plot of the film could have been inspirational – a rich boy who wants to give up his royal life and live like a common man to prove himself worthy of becoming a CEO – the way the idea is presented has been seen in many films before. Its similarities with films like “Srimanthudu” and Korean film A Millionaire’s First Love are clearly visible.
The narrative of the film is somewhat engaging, but the screenplay has neither depth nor sustained engagement. The emotional scenes are also shown in a very simple and melodramatic manner, due to which they seem to lack reality and impact. Especially the scenes based on the problems of the farmer seem superficial rather than moving the audience.
Raj Tarun has played his role honestly, but his young face and stature fail to give him the image of an impressive CEO. Hasini Sudheer’s character (Ammulu) is limited to glamour. The romantic track between her and Raj Tarun also seems incomplete and weak, which further loosens the emotional grip of the film.
The film has cast an experienced comedian like Brahmanandam, but his comedy also fails to leave the desired impact. The comedy scenes are neither funny nor successful in making the film light-hearted.
The biggest disappointment is in the climax of the film, when a new character suddenly appears and solves all the problems like “magic”. This “Deus Ex Machina” style climax makes the audience feel that the entire journey and struggle of the hero was in vain. This ending is neither logical nor seems to be connected to the development of the characters.
On the other hand, some viewers have liked this film very much. According to him, Purushothamudu is an inspirational and emotional film that touches upon important themes such as struggle, community and self-reflection. The film’s cinematography and background music have also been highly appreciated.

Conclusion
Purushothamudu is a film that starts with an inspiring idea but fails to achieve its objective due to a weak screenplay and lack of emotional depth. Raj Tarun and co-stars’ performances are average, and the romantic and comic scenes feel ineffective. The film excels in technical aspects like cinematography and music, but the presentation of the story seems incomplete. If you have nothing special to watch, then this film can be watched once, but keep your expectations limited, as it gives an average experience.
